The Naga Pooshani Ambal Kovil
What?
This is a small island off Jaffna, home to the Nagapooshani Amman Temple and Nagadeepa Purana Viharaya, significant for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims.

It is an island located in the Jaffna district and approximately 400 km from Colombo.
When?
The best time to visit is from November to April, avoiding rough seas.
The Naga Pooshani Ambal Kovil is dedicated to the wife of Shiva. Women trying to conceive come here to get the blessings and then bring their babies to the temple to fulfill their vows. The temple is decorated with bronze and silver metalwork. There is an annual 18-day festival held here in June.
