Sri Dalada Museum (or the museum of the Maligawa) is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Aluth Maligawa. It was established by Nissanka Wijeratne, the Diyawadana Nilame, during the period of 1974–1985 AD. Many things can be seen in this museum– documents, royal garments and artifacts that are used in the daily tooth-relic ceremonies, caskets, Buddha images, gem-studded gold and silver bracelets and necklaces, ancient flags, carved ivory tusks, and many royal and sacred relics.
