Palk Strait is a strait between Tamil Nadu (India) and the Mannar district. It connects the Bay of Bengal in the northeast with the Palk Bay and with the Gulf of Mannar in the southwest. Large ships can’t pass through the shallow water and the reefs of the strait; however, small crafts and fishing boats can navigate this strait.
