Nainathivu (Nagadeepa) is an island attracting both Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims. It is on the Jaffna peninsula and can be reached by boat. It takes around 2–3 hours to get there. It is believed that Buddha has set foot there. There are two main worship places on this island– the Naga Pooshani Amman Kovil and the Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya.
