Mawanella Bridge is an ancient construction in Mawanella. It was built between 1832 and 1833 across the Maha Oya River in Mawanella and is a British colonial inheritance. It is about 100 meters long and constructed of bricks. Even though the bridge was built almost 200 years ago and many heavy vehicles move daily across it, it still doesn’t need to be repaired. This fact is proof of good technology used in colonial times.
