Kuttam Pokuna (Twin Ponds) are great achievements of hydrological engineering of ancient Sri Lanka. They are located in Anuradhapura and are part of the Abhayagiri Aramic complex. They were built during the reign of King Aggabodhi I. The smaller pond is 28 meters long, and the larger pond is 40 metres long. Water is supplied by underground earthenware pipelines and through several filtering chambers to the ponds.
