Kokavil Monument & Kokavil Tower are located in Kilinochchi. Kokavil Tower was the major communication connection between the north and the south until the ‘90s. After that, the LTTE terrorists besieged the area. Many warriors sacrificed their lives to protect the tower from the terrorists. The tower is 174 meters high and serves as the tallest monument of peace, symbolizing reconciliation in the northern area. The Kokavil Monument is a token of commemoration and special honor to the war heroes who made the greatest sacrifice defending the Kokavil Tower.
