Kandy National Museum

This is a museum showcasing artifacts from the Kandyan era, housed in the former royal palace.

It is located next to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy and approximately 115 km from Colombo.

When?
It can be visited all year long

Kandy National Museum is located beside the Temple of the Tooth. It exhibits royal thrones, scepters (ornamental rods), and swords from the 17th and 18th centuries. The Kandy National Museum was a former palace for the royal concubines, and this was the place where the Kandyan chiefs had to surrender to the British rulers in 1815.
