It is located in the Badulla district and approximately 200 km from Colombo.

When?
The best time to visit is from December to April for clear weather and stunning views.

The small town of Ella is famous for its fault (Ella Gap), leaving the coastal plain to see almost 1000 meters below. Obviously the view will depend on the time! At the exit of the city. Here you can do hiking, trekking, visiting tea plantations, or bathing in the waterfalls. There are many budget hostels and restaurants; most offer food for a good price and places of luxury in the jungle. It was the rainy season, but it rained more than a couple of hours during the day. The height makes it cooler than other lower towns.
