Lankathilaka Viharaya in Polonnaruwa is an ancient monument that belongs to the period of the Kingdom of King Parakramabahu I. Renovations of the temple were made in the period of the Dambadeniya kingdom (the 13th century) by King Vijayabahu IV. The most interesting things in this temple are two 16-meter high towers at the entrance and the giant 13-meter high headless Buddha statue.
