Kilinochchi Monument

What?
This is a war memorial, built to commemorate the Sri Lankan military’s victory over the LTTE in 2009.

Where?
It is located in Kilinochchi District and approximately 320 km from Colombo.

When?
It can be visited all year long, though December to April, when the weather is dry.

The Kilinochchi Monument is dedicated to the heroes of the war who sacrificed their lives to prevent all terror attacks and rescued the entire district. The monument is 9 meters in length and 6 meters in height and is a special place for all peace-loving Sri Lankans. It is a symbol of honor, especially for those who became disabled because of the injuries.
