Ras Vehera, also known as Sesseruwa, in Galgamuwa, Kurunegala, features a 13-meter Buddha statue carved into a rock, surrounded by ancient caves and ruins dating to the 2nd century BC. A sacred Bo tree, a sapling of Anuradhapura’s Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, was planted here by King Devanampiya Tissa. Climbing 300 steps to the statue offers a spiritual journey, enriched by the site’s historical and serene ambiance.
