Sinharaja Rain Forest (NATIONAL PARKS)

What?
This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Sri Lanka’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest.

Where?
It is located in the Ratnapura district and approximately 170 km from Colombo.

When?
The best time to visit is from December to April, when rainfall is lower.

This UNESCO World Heritage site, Sinharaja Rain Forest, is the largest primary tropical rainforest still available in Sri Lanka. Rare bird species, adorable butterflies, and reclusive reptiles are just some of the plants and animals found here because of its high biodiversity. You can join a tour to walk through the forest, see waterfalls, tall trees and listen to the stunning voices of wildlife.
