Budugala Rock is a well-known rock and an archaeologically important site located in Kalthota, Ratnapura. There are ruins of several buildings, bridges, and a temple dating back to the 1st century BC. It is believed that the name Budugala was given after the Buddha sculpture on a rock. There are two large rectangular building foundations connected to each other at the center by a narrow bridge and a huge polished granite slab. At the summit of the rock, a dagoba can be discovered. And it is believed that this was the hiding place of King Walagamba.
