Polonnaruwa Rankoth Vehera is the 4th largest stupa in Sri Lanka and the tallest stupa in Polonnaruwa, being 55 meters high. It was built by King Nissanka Malla (1187-1196 AD). It has a similar shape to the Ruwanweli Maha Seya in Anuradhapura. Originally it was known as the Ruwanmali dagoba. Four Vahalkadas and shrine rooms around the stupa, rock inscriptions, and the residential cells of monks (Awasa) are the significant things to see here.
