It is located in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, near Ohiya and Nuwara Eliya and approximately 180 km from Colombo.

When?
It can be visited all year long, but December to April offers the best weather for trekking and sightseeing.

Horton Plains National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a huge plateau that is teeming with cloud forests, montane grasslands, and spectacular overlooks. It is inhabited by the endemic wildlife, including sambar deer, peculiar birds, and the mystery leopard. The park’s most renowned attraction is World’s End, which is a dramatic cliff from which you can get stunning views of the lowland below. Another notable feature is Baker’s Falls, which is a beautiful waterfall that is enclosed by beautiful green vegetation. The Horton Plains is heaven for trekkers and those who enjoy hanging around with nature in Sri Lanka’s wilderness.
