What? This is the second-largest blowhole in the world. It creates spectacular jets of seawater reaching up to 30 meters high.
Where? It is located near Kudawella and approximately 210 km from Colombo.
When? The best time to visit is from May to September, during the monsoon season for stronger waves.
This spectacular blowhole is located at Mawella, about 6 km northeast of Dikwella. Especially during the southwest monsoon in June, high seas can force water 23m vertically through a natural rock chimney to the surface and then 20m in the air. This happens every 10 to 15 minutes. According to the villagers, the water can be three coconut trees high.
