Dehiwala Zoo is a popular place with local and foreign visitors. It is situated 10km south of the center of Colombo (at Allen Avenue, in the suburb of Dehiwala). The National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka operates as the Dehiwala Zoo, which was founded as one of Asia’s oldest zoological gardens in 1936. Etchingham Zoo extends over 10 hectares in Dehiwala, which lies near the entry point to Colombo. Visitors can find animal conservation and education along with welfare programs through this institution, which provides animal shows and develops beautifully designed enclosures. Visitors can enjoy a unique experience at Dehiwala Zoo, which consists of three main features: a butterfly garden alongside walk-in aviaries and a reptile house.
