Mamangam Hindu Temple is an old popular Hindu religious temple. It is located near the Batticaloa town. It is believed that the temple was built in the place where Lord Rama had done prayers to Lord Shiva, while in search of Sita. As other Hindu temples it performs three religious rituals a day as an offering to various deities (pooja). The temple organises an annual festival, which is held for 10 days in July, and thousands of pilgrims from all over Sri Lanka attend it. There are certain spiritual events and activities prepared for each day.
